How to make halva

Making Homs Halawa:

 
Ingredients

- 1/2 kilo (500 g) roasted chickpeas
- 200 g sugar
- 1 cup (180 ml) water
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) rose water
 
 
 
Preparation Method:
==========
- Over medium heat, combine the sugar and water, and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the lemon juice and rose water, and stir continuously for 20 minutes, until the mixture thickens and turns a light golden color.
- Add the chickpeas over the honey and stir quickly.
 
Until the ingredients are mixed. Spread the hummus in a greased, loose-bottomed tray.
- Grease your hands with oil, or a rolling pin, and spread the hummus to the desired thickness.
- Let the hummus rest for 3 minutes, then cut it into squares with a knife.
- Let the hummus rest for 3 hours until it sets, then serve.
