A virtual online meeting was held to enhance women's economic partnerships, explore networking opportunities, and develop joint cooperation areas between both sides. The meeting brought together Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh, Board Member of the Chamber and Chairperson of the Industrial Businesswomen Committee, and Dr. Raja Al Gurg, Chairperson of the Dubai Businesswomen Council, in the presence of Ms. Nadine Halabi Di Francesca, Director of the Dubai Businesswomen Council.The meeting featured mutual introductions during which the current status of industrial businesswomen in both countries and available partnerships were reviewed. Dr. Al Gurg expressed the Dubai Council's keen interest in building bridges of partnership with their counterparts in Syria, announcing her desire to conduct a field visit to Syria in the near future to closely examine the conditions of factories and facilities.For her part, Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh highlighted the pivotal role played by the committee in supporting the entrepreneurship of Syrian women, particularly in the post-liberation phase. She clearly pointed out the scale of severe damages and heavy losses suffered by industrial facilities. At the same time, she emphasized the inspiring success stories of women who managed to rise and rebuild amidst the rubble. She also shed light on the segment that was unable to return to production due to the difficult socio-economic conditions spanning nearly 14 years. Furthermore, she reviewed the committee's continuous efforts in organizing workshops, participating in local and international exhibitions, sponsoring small and micro-enterprises, and reviving traditional handicrafts inspired by ancient Syrian heritage.At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to develop a future joint action plan for cooperation between the two sides.
