The Presidency of the Republic Issues a Communiqué Declaring a Public Holiday on Islamic New Year 2026
The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic issued an official communiqué declaring Tuesday, June 16, 2026 AD, corresponding to Muharram 1, 1448 AH, an official holiday for all public entities on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.
The communiqué included the following details:

Public Sector Holiday: Work will be suspended in all government institutions and departments on Tuesday, 16/06/2026.

Official Examinations: The schedules for public certificate examinations under the Ministry of Education shall remain unchanged and proceed as previously scheduled without any modification.

Entities with Special Work Nature: The provisions of Paragraph (C) of Article 43 of the Basic Law for State Employees No. 50 of 2004 and its amendments shall be observed regarding public entities whose work nature or circumstances require continuous operations
