The activities of the "1st National Private Sector Dialogue Conference in Syria" commenced at the Congress Palace in the capital, Damascus, running from June 1 to 3. The conference features a prominent participation of a delegation from the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, alongside representatives from government entities and international partner organisations.
The conference is jointly organised by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Syria, and in strategic partnership with the Government of Japan. It aims to establish a national dialogue platform that brings together production pillars to boost the economic recovery process.
The delegation of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry includes elite industrial leaders, led by Eng. Mohamed Ayman Al-Molawi (Secretary of the Federation and Chairman of the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry), Mr. Hassan Daaboul (Treasurer of the Federation), Mr. Iyad Beytinjaneh (Federation Bureau Member), and Mr. Imad Taha Al-Qasim (Board Member and Chairman of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry), in addition to Federation Board Members Mr. Ahmad Mahdi Al-Khader and Mr. Noureddine Samha.
The opening speeches of the conference stressed the direction towards shaping a new Syrian economic model characterized by realism, openness, and ambition. This model aims to achieve tangible developmental leaps within short timeframes by optimally utilizing the country's strategic geographical location and employing the capacities of Syrian human resources both at home and abroad.{C}
Over three days, participants are discussing practical mechanisms to empower the private sector to make an organized contribution to shaping future economic visions. They are also identifying action priorities to build a competitive and sustainable economy based on a genuine partnership between the public and private sectors. Furthermore, the conference focuses on overcoming operational and legal obstacles facing the business environment and proposing the necessary incentives to attract investments and build trust among various partners.{C}
