Dr. Mazen Deirwan, President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, received a delegation from the Arab Federation for Leather Industries. The delegation included Mr. Samer Abdul Jalil Ramadan, Acting Secretary-General of the Federation, Mr. Yahya Zakaria Al-Ismail, Director of Media, Communication, and Public Relations, and Mr. Fares Al-Haj from the Trade Committee. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Khaldoun Dado, Director of the Syrian Federation.A number of issues and files related to the leather industries sector were discussed. The two sides reviewed the challenges facing this sector as well as the available opportunities to develop it and enhance its competitiveness in both local and international markets. Additionally, it was proposed to form a specialized committee for leather industries under the umbrella of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry. This committee aims to enhance coordination among industrialists and unify efforts to upgrade this sector, thereby contributing to the development of production, improving quality, and opening new horizons for Syrian leather industries.Furthermore, both sides discussed ways to enhance the presence of Syrian products in foreign markets and open new channels to access Arab and international markets to support and develop this industry.The attendees emphasized the importance of vocational training and qualification for this sector. In this regard, Mr. Samer Abdul Jalil stated that several international organizations and bodies are fully prepared to equip specialized training centers for leather industries in Syria
