Syrian-Turkish Partnership to Organize Direct B2B Meetings at Damascus International Fair 2026

With an innovative working mechanism and a specific timeline, the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside has established a joint roadmap with the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) to organize direct business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Syrian and Turkish companies during the Damascus International Fair. This came during a meeting between Eng. Muhammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi, Chairman of the Chamber, and an official delegation from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), which represents 150,000 Turkish exporters. The delegation included Mr. Savaş Özgür, Head of the External Relations and International Activities Branch at the Assembly, and Mr. Miraç Akkuş, Advisor for External Relations and International Activities, in the presence of Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh, Board Member of the Chamber, and Mr. Wasim Saad, Director of the Chamber. The Turkish delegation explained that the Assembly is currently preparing lists of companies interested in cooperating across various sectors, such as food industries, clothing, and machinery. Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging these lists in advance to pinpoint specializations accurately. This will allow the targeted Syrian and Turkish companies an opportunity for prior coordination and to book specific appointments, ensuring maximum benefit from the joint meetings, which are scheduled to begin on August 26, 2026, according to a work program to be determined later. The meeting also reviewed the arrangements for the Turkish delegation's upcoming visit in August to participate in the Damascus International Fair. The delegation indicated the potential attendance of the Turkish Minister of Trade at the opening ceremony, alongside wide participation from representatives of Turkish export councils, which comprise 61 export unions under the umbrella of the main assembly. The fair is set to allocate independent booths for each participating company to facilitate direct communication. In the context of defining industrial priorities, Eng. Muhammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi stressed that the reconstruction sector represents an essential and highly important need in the current stage, particularly for companies specialized in prefabricated buildings, finishing materials, and infrastructure, in addition to other vital sectors such as pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries. He highlighted the great importance of securing raw materials that feed into various industrial sectors, praising the quality of Turkish raw materials that meet the requirements of the local industry
