His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Basel Souidan, received a delegation from the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, headed by Dr. Mazen Deirwan, Chairman of the Federation. The meeting was attended by Eng. Mohammad Ayman Al-Moulawi, Secretary of the Federation and Chairman of the Damascus and its Countryside Chamber of Industry; Eng. Osama Al-Omer and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Kurdi, Board Members of the Federation; Mr. Ismail Hajj Hamad, Vice Chairman of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry; Mr. Antoine Beitanjaneh and Mr. Saher Al-Abdullah from the Damascus and its Countryside Chamber of Industry; and Mr. Khaldoun Dado, Director of the Federation.The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms to ensure the availability and stability of all types of meat required for local production and consumption. It also addressed simplifying the procedures for issuing health certificates for exported goods, preserving forestry resources in general and laurel trees in particular, and managing the agricultural calendar to balance the availability of all types of agricultural products.Furthermore, attendees highlighted the importance of testing veterinary medicines and imported oils to ensure compliance with Syrian standard specifications and international criteria to safeguard public health.The meeting also underscored the significance of agro-industries and their integration, proposing to exempt agricultural labor tools from customs duties—similar to industrial machinery—in order to reduce overall production costs
