Syria is the Guest of Honor at the Second Arab-Hellenic Health Congress in Athens: Emphasizing the Enhancement of Health and Investment Cooperation Between the Two Countries

The Arab-Hellenic Chamber organized the Second Arab-Hellenic Health Congress in the Greek capital, Athens, on June 10 and 11, under the theme "Cooperation for a Healthy Future." The event witnessed broad participation from officials, experts, businessmen, and healthcare sector representatives from both Arab countries and Greece.
 
The congress addressed several vital pillars, most notably the strategic importance of pharmaceutical industries, hospital modernization, the role of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in diagnosis and treatment, the growth of medical tourism, recent developments in the cosmetics industry, and the role of young entrepreneurs in developing the health sector through innovative ideas and initiatives.
 
The Syrian Arab Republic participated as the Guest of Honor in the opening ceremony with an official delegation led by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Mousab Nazal Al-Ali. The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce also participated with a business delegation headed by Mr. Anas Joud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a board member of the Federation, and its representative on the board of the Arab-Hellenic Chamber.
 
During the opening session, the Syrian Minister of Health delivered a speech reviewing the features of the new phase in Syria and the government's directives aimed at providing an attractive environment for investments and investors. He stressed that Syria possesses promising investment opportunities in various economic and service sectors.
 
The Minister also emphasized the importance of cooperating with the Greek side in developing pharmaceutical industries and modernizing hospitals and health facilities. He highlighted Syria's aspiration to build effective partnerships with Greece and all friendly countries, in light of the growing interest shown by Arab and foreign companies and investors to invest in Syria.
 
For his part, the Greek Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, welcomed the Syrian delegation, stressing the depth of the historical relations uniting the Syrian and Greek peoples, and expressing his country's readiness to develop bilateral cooperation in the health sector and push it toward broader horizons in the coming phase.
 
In his speech during the congress, Mr. Anas Joud reviewed the advantages provided by the Syrian Investment Law, including exemptions and incentives that encourage investors to implement their projects in Syria. He emphasized that the current phase constitutes a suitable opportunity to build economic and health partnerships between the two nations.
 
Following the opening ceremony, a joint meeting was held at the headquarters of the Greek Ministry of Health between the Syrian and Greek sides. The meeting took place in a positive atmosphere that reflected a mutual desire to strengthen cooperation and develop bilateral relations in the health and investment fields.
 
In the congress sessions, Dr. Hani Al-Baghdadi, Deputy Minister of Health, gave a presentation on the reality of pharmaceutical industries in Syria, stressing the importance of benefiting from advanced Greek expertise in this field, especially since Greece has achieved remarkable progress in pharmaceutical industries and modern medical technologies.
 
Furthermore, Dr. Mazen Al-Sayed Rassas spoke on behalf of the Syrian business delegation regarding the reality of the healthcare sector in Syria and the need to develop hospital infrastructure. He pointed to the importance of cooperating with specialized Greek companies and institutions, particularly in light of the global trend toward utilizing advanced technology and artificial intelligence in diagnosis, treatment, and healthcare services management. He also outlined the investment opportunities available for building and modernizing hospitals in Syria.
 
On the sidelines of the congress, the Syrian Minister of Health held a series of meetings with several Syrian physicians residing in Greece.
 
Concurrently, the delegation of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce held intensive meetings with representatives of the public and private sectors from both the Greek and Arab sides, aiming to expand the scopes of economic, commercial, and investment cooperation.
 
The congress also saw the participation of Dr. Ibrahim Maqdisi, President of the Tripoli Physicians Syndicate in Lebanon, Mr. Mohammed Saeed Sheikh Al-Kar, Chairman of the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Abdul Bari Al-Masmoum, board member of the Homs Chamber, in addition to several Syrian businessmen.
 
The high level of official and economic Syrian representation in this congress reflects Syria's new direction toward strengthening its regional and international presence and building bridges of cooperation with various friendly countries, foremost among them Greece, which shares deep historical, cultural, and economic ties with Syria. This participation aims to boost trade exchange, encourage investments, and achieve the core goals of the congress
