Because insight always makes a difference, and under the umbrella of continuous support for developmental initiatives, the Businesswomen Committee of the Damascus and its Countryside Chamber of Industry, headed by Eng. Wafaa Abu Labda, a board member of the Chamber, along with several committee members, visited the headquarters of the Al-Wiaam Association for Blind Women in Damascus. The visit aimed to review the workflow and the various activities provided by the association to its beneficiaries.During the visit, Eng. Abu Labda reaffirmed the committee's full commitment to providing practical and logistical support to the association. She announced that the committee would cover the costs of a comprehensive training course for the members, promising regular reviews and updates to address ongoing needs and developments promptly. In the context of promoting economic empowerment, Abu Labda noted her efforts to connect the association with prominent industrial figures to create marketing and sales channels for their products. Furthermore, she expressed plans to open avenues of cooperation with international organizations to support small enterprises, secure new headquarters, and alleviate the association's financial burdens. She also stressed the importance of integrating the association's women into the economic movement, promising to secure their participation in festivals and exhibitions organized by the Damascus and its Countryside Chamber of Industry to ensure an active presence that reflects their creativity and ability to produce and excel.Ms. Maysaa Al-Saqqa, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Association, expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude for this kind gesture from the committee, emphasizing the significant positive impact of such initiatives. She stated that this visit serves as a great motivation to continue delivering the best and embodies a true partnership that grants determination and hope to the beneficiaries of the association's services.The committee chairperson and her accompanying delegation conducted a field tour that included various departments, where the committee learned firsthand about the integrated educational and vocational programs managed by the association. These programs aim to empower blind individuals and transition them from the stage of care to the stage of production and self-reliance. During the tour, the delegation listened to a detailed explanation from those in charge of the training programs, which start from teaching basic principles and progress to advanced levels. In the technological sector, trainees undergo courses starting from "Beginner Windows" up to the advanced level, before moving on to the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), overcoming obstacles related to handling images and databases (Access), and reaching web design and advanced programming languages. Professionally, the association hosts various specialized courses, including accessory and bead making, perfume blending, and needlework (crochet), where members are trained from scratch until they fully master the entire production line to open up new career horizons for them.The committee also promised to provide further support and open new horizons of effective and sustainable promises that contribute to integrating these groups and helping them gain well-deserved opportunities in society and the labor market
