The Syrian Chemical Society, in cooperation with the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry, organized a specialized workshop titled "Industrial and Chemical Technology for Flexible Foam Production" (From the Lab to the Production Line), attended by a number of students, graduates, and interested individuals.The workshop was presented by chemist, lecturer, and trainer Jamil Abdul Jalil, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Syrian Chemical Society. He covered the fundamentals of the foam industry, introduced the raw materials involved in manufacturing, and explained production methods and stages. He also discussed how to distinguish high-quality foam from low-quality products and outlined methods for testing the final product. Furthermore, the trainer emphasized industrial security, safety measures, and hazard alerts within industrial facilities, while offering advice to industrialists on ways to advance this local industry and establish new factories.For his part, chemist Abdullah Sultan, a board member of the Syrian Chemical Society, explained that the primary target audience includes chemistry graduates and foam factory owners, aiming to update them on the latest technologies. He noted that this session serves as an introductory workshop that opens up horizons to expand the Society's activities into an extended project covering all Syrian governorates in cooperation with chambers of industry. Sultan added that following this success, the Society plans to organize a comprehensive theoretical and practical training course, expressing his gratitude to the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry for hosting the workshop and providing the opportunity to present this important scientific and industrial content
