Speaker of the People's Assembly Discusses Law Amendments and Investment Support with the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Industry
The Speaker of the People's Assembly, Dr. Abdul Hamid al-Awak, received a delegation from the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Industry, headed by the Chamber's Chairman, Eng. Muhammad Ayman al-Mawlawi, along with several board members. The meeting, attended by the Assembly's Secretary, Mr. Muayyad Habib, addressed the current state of the Syrian industry and the prominent challenges facing industrialists.
The discussions covered proposals regarding the laws and legislations governing industrial activities, emphasizing the importance of developing a legislative framework that helps overcome obstacles in the industrial sector, protects the production process, and enhances the industry's stability, growth, and competitiveness.
Furthermore, the attendees reviewed key laws and decrees requiring amendments, such as Decree No. 8 of 2021, in addition to labor and social insurance laws, and the amendment of the income tax law, among others.
Both sides stressed the significance of integrating efforts between the legislative authorities and the industrial sector. This collaboration aims to support the business environment, facilitate and attract investments, create job opportunities, and strengthen the role of industry in boosting the national economy
