Minister of Local Administration in Lattakia: Decisive Decisions to Lift Real Estate Restrictions and Boost Industrial Investment

Lattakia Governorate hosted the Minister of Local Administration, Mr. Mohammad Qanjarani, for an expanded meeting attended by the Governor of Lattakia, Mr. Mohammad Othman. Participants included members of the Executive Office, regional directors, representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, syndicates, and religious and community figures.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the Ministry’s strategic plan and the new organizational structure aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency. He emphasized two key pillars: first, working to lift the "disposal restriction" (Qasr al-Tasarruf) on hundreds of properties in Lattakia to restore owners' rights and revitalize the real estate sector. Second, he announced that Committee (381) has finalized the study to cancel Circular No. 10, which restricts industrial licensing outside urban plans, with a final decision expected within days to stimulate industrial investment.

Mr. Anas Joud highlighted the pivotal role of urban planning and reconstruction, noting that the real estate sector accounts for approximately 70% of the economy. The meeting also included board members of the Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Essam Soufi, Mr. Hassan Androun, and Mr. Ahmed Keikhia, as part of a vision to strengthen Lattakia’s position as a vital economic hub
