In preparation for upcoming extended meetings with industrialists to present the Ministry of Finance’s new vision, procedures, and facilitations for finalizing industrial tax assessments, His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammad Yusr Barnieh, visited the headquarters of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Industry. He was received by the Chamber’s President, Eng. Mohammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi, in the presence of Mr. Abdullah Al-Zayed (Chamber Secretary), Mr. Karim Al-Khaja (Chamber Bureau Member), as well as Mr. Hassan Daaboul and Mr. Anas Traboulsi (Chamber Board Members).During the meeting, several files and issues of concern to the industrial sector were discussed, foremost among which was the finalization of old tax assessments. The meeting also addressed social insurance matters, digital transformation—which the Ministry seeks to activate—in addition to launching the complaints office at the Ministry of Finance, along with various other topics related to developing the business environment and improving services provided to industrialists.During the meeting, the Minister of Finance emphasized the Ministry's keenness to follow up on industrialists' issues and find appropriate solutions for them. He highlighted the ongoing procedures aimed at enhancing trust and creating a more supportive environment for the industrial sector, stressing that industrialists will notice a remarkable change in the near future.For his part, Eng. Mohammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister of Finance for his continuous follow-up on the concerns and demands of industrialists, and his dedication to addressing them, whether through the Ministry of Finance or through coordination with relevant authorities, in a way that contributes to supporting and developing national industry
