The Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Industry has launched the “Welcome Spring – Made in Syria” shopping festival in the Nashabiyah area, aiming to support local products and reduce living costs by enabling direct sales from producers to consumers without intermediaries.
The festival features the participation of around 50 industrial companies from various sectors, offering discounts ranging from 20% to 50%, along with special raffles for visitors that include valuable prizes such as gold coins.
Organized in cooperation with the Nashabiyah Municipality, the opening ceremony was attended by several officials and industrial representatives, including the Mayor of Nashabiyah Khaled Al-Maijel, Chamber board member and Head of Exhibitions Committee Anas Traboulsi, Head of Women Industrial Business Committee Engineer Wafaa Abu Labda, and board member Mahmoud Al-Maijel.
The mayor أكد أن the festival reflects the return of economic activity to the region after years of challenges, expressing hope that it will support residents and strengthen confidence in national products.
Anas Traboulsi explained that Nashabiyah is part of a broader series of events across Damascus and its countryside, aimed at expanding benefits and offering real discounts to ease financial burdens on citizens.
Engineer Wafaa Abu Labda stated that the festival provides a comprehensive shopping experience that meets the needs of Syrian families, highlighting efforts to ensure that discounts reach those who need them most. She also noted cooperation with Al-Wiam Association for Blind Women, enabling them to showcase and sell their products as part of social responsibility initiatives.
Mahmoud Al-Maijel emphasized that the festival goes beyond commercial activities, including entertainment programs, competitions, and support initiatives for vulnerable groups.
The festival runs until May 12, 2026, in Nashabiyah city مقابل the municipal building, with participation from companies in food, engineering, chemical, and textile sectors
