Following the tangible success of its inaugural edition, the "Best Syrian Chemical Product" Award returns for its second cycle. The Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry, alongside the Syrian Chemical Society, in partnership with the Syrian Chambers of Industry and under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, announced the opening of a new competitive round for major national chemical industrial companies. This prominent economic event aims to redefine standards of quality and innovation while expanding the global footprint of Syrian chemical exports.The press conference launching the second edition took place at the headquarters of the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry. The event was attended by Eng. Muhammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi (Chairman of the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry), Mr. Muhammad Al-Shaer (Chairman of the Syrian Chemical Society), Dr. Radwan Abdeen (Board Member of the Chamber), Mahmoud Al-Mufti (Deputy Head of the Chemical Sector), and a large gathering of media representatives.During the conference, Eng. Muhammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi emphasized that national industries adhering to Syrian standard specifications have proven their high quality, leading local consumers to prefer them over imported goods. Al-Mawlawi explained that last year’s inaugural edition achieved remarkable success and witnessed fierce competition among industrialists whose outstanding products secured the award's gold, silver, and bronze tiers. He noted that winning the award has opened broad horizons for these companies, boosting their products' accessibility to foreign export markets.For his part, Mr. Muhammad Al-Shaer revealed that the scope of participation has been expanded this year to encompass 7 main categories and 14 subcategories, aiming to further incentivize manufacturers across various chemical sectors. Regarding the evaluation mechanism and ensuring neutrality, he confirmed the formation of an independent evaluation committee comprising 8 specialized experts operating under a strict confidentiality protocol. Al-Shaer pointed out that the evaluation of participating facilities and products relies on four main criteria: product quality, administrative quality, quality control through the infrastructure of standard laboratories, in addition to sustainability, environment, industrial security, and occupational safety. He highlighted that the core objective is to support products and facilities that demonstrate continuous quality and permanent development.Dr. Radwan Abdeen, a board member of the Chamber, extended an open invitation to industrialists to participate in this race. He stated that it brings a collective victory by raising the profile of Syrian industry, as well as a specific victory by driving individual facilities toward continuous development and innovation to match global standards. He also indicated that participation grants industrialists the advantage of an objective, neutral self-assessment to realize the true positioning of their facilities—which serves as the primary and essential step toward mapping out successful future goals, whether the facility wins the award or not.The timeline and executive program for the second edition of the award were also announced during the conference. Registration and the distribution of application forms across all chambers of industry will begin on Thursday, September 24. The official submission window will open on September 25 and run until October 25. This will be followed by the judging and evaluation phase, where files will be handed over to the specialized committee to carry out its work from November 1 to December 15. The program will conclude with the announcement of results and the crowning of winners at the closing ceremony scheduled for December 22
