Launch of the First Phase of the Vocational Training Program for the Iron Sector in Syria
With the aim of qualifying technical and supervisory cadres in the iron sector factories, developing their capabilities in preparing and implementing training programs, and transferring practical expertise and specialized knowledge to workers, the Iron Sector Management at the Syrian Sovereign Fund, in cooperation with the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside, launched the first phase of the vocational training and qualification program through the Train the Trainers (TOT) course. The inauguration was attended by Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh, Board Member of the Chamber, Eng. Houssam Al-Jarba, Deputy CEO of the Iron Sector at the Sovereign Fund, and Eng. Ahed Ahmed Al-Ahmed, Risk Management Director of the Iron Sector at the Sovereign Fund.
The launch of this course marks a practical starting point for executing the training program across its four stages, starting with preparing internal trainers, followed by training workers, expanding the application scope to include the sector's factories in other governorates, and ultimately developing vocational training programs tailored for industrial high school students, technical institute graduates, and engineering college alumni.
The outputs of this course are expected to support the subsequent phases of the program by preparing cadres capable of participating in the execution of theoretical and practical training according to technical and operational needs, thereby enhancing the sustainability of knowledge transfer and professional competency development in the iron sector
