The Board of Directors of the Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its scheduled annual General Assembly meeting for the year 2025. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Anas Deep Joud, President of the Chamber, and attended by Mr. Al-Shareef Safi Al-Fadhel, the General Secretary.Also in attendance were Dr. Essam Soufi, member of the Executive Bureau of Lattakia Governorate; Mr. Abdul Wahab Safar, Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection; and Mr. Ammar Qussaibati, Financial Director of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce. They were joined by members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, the Jableh Traders Committee, and a large crowd of local merchants and industrialists.Supporting the Business Sector and EntrepreneurshipThe Chamber’s President, Mr. Anas Deep Joud, affirmed the Chamber's ongoing commitment to supporting traders and developing the Syrian business environment despite current economic challenges. Joud highlighted positive steps taken regarding trade liberalization, expanding import opportunities, and deepening partnerships with government institutions through joint economic committees.Joud also highlighted the Chamber's latest initiatives, including:Youth Empowerment: Launching training programs and competitions in entrepreneurship, alongside free specialized courses in Artificial Intelligence.Economic Inclusion: Establishing the Businesswomen Council to enhance women's participation in economic development.Financial Sustainability: Investing in the Chamber’s real estate assets to secure sustainable revenues that support its training and service programs.Digital Transformation and Service AutomationThe Executive Director of the Chamber, Mr. Mohammad Shammout, presented a comprehensive action plan to relaunch services through a full automation project in cooperation with the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce. The project aims to deliver services and transactions electronically through an integrated smart application, simplifying procedures for all registered members.General Assembly ResolutionsThe General Secretary, Mr. Al-Shareef Safi Al-Fadhel, presented the meeting's agenda, which was approved by the General Assembly following extensive discussions. The approved points included:Approving the annual board report for the year 2025.Ratifying the final financial statements and discharging the board members of their liabilities.Approving the estimated budget for the fiscal year 2026.Setting the annual subscription fees for 2027 and appointing the financial auditor.The meeting concluded with an open discussion session where the President, General Secretary, and Treasurer addressed inquiries and proposals from the attendees, focusing particularly on financial matters and coordination mechanisms with the relevant government authorities
