Inauguration of the First Edition of "Syrex Jeddah" Exhibition to Boost Syrian-Saudi Trade Partnerships
Eng. Basel Abdul Hanan, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, and Eng. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Qarni, Deputy Mayor of Jeddah Governorate, inaugurated today the first edition of the "Syrex Jeddah" exhibition, organized by the Chambers of Industry of Damascus & its Countryside and Aleppo. The event was attended by Mr. Mohammad Hamzah, Director General of the General Organization for International Exhibitions and Fairs, Khaled Al-Khadr, Director General of the Local Production and Export Support Authority, Moayad Najjar, Director General of the Cotton State Corporation, alongside a large gathering of economic figures, Saudi businessmen, and merchants.
Mr. Anas Traboulsi, board member of the Damascus and Its Countryside Chamber of Industry, pointed out that the exhibition, which runs until the 11th of this month, serves as an important economic platform and a gateway to showcase Syrian products, paving the way to expand commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Mohammad Zizan, board member of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, noted that around 160 Syrian companies are participating, representing various sectors including food, textiles, chemicals, and engineering. Bilateral B2B meetings will also be held between businessmen from both sides to explore ways to strengthen relations, partnerships, and investment opportunities, thereby enhancing the presence of Syrian products in the Saudi market and opening new channels for trade exchange. He added that the exhibition will be held regularly twice a year.
Mr. Anas Sarmini, board member of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, highlighted that the exhibition witnessed high turnout on its first day, exceeding 1,800 specialized visitors, including Saudi and Arab businessmen. This reflects a genuine desire and significant interest from Arab business leaders to establish business connections with the participants.
"Syrex Jeddah" receives substantial attention from official and economic circles in Saudi Arabia, representing a new step toward developing economic and trade relations between the Kingdom and Syria. It provides an avenue for investors and business owners to explore promising opportunities and build partnerships that support trade, investment, and mutual interests
