In the context of its continuous efforts to protect the pillars of local production, the Hama Chamber of Industry placed the industrialists' demands and all the concerns of the sector on the table of an expanded joint meeting. The meeting was held in the auditorium of the Political Authority in Hama Governorate, in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Industry, Dr. Nidal Al-Shaar, the Deputy Minister, Engineer Basil Abdel Hanan, the Governor of Hama, Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sahyan, Mr. Mahmoud Salqini, a member of the Executive Office in Hama Governorate, and the heads of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Asaad Kajoun and Mr. Samir Al-Habbal.The Chamber focused on formulating a developmental vision that ensures overcoming obstacles and challenges. It took the lead in the economic discussion by presenting strategic files that touch the core of industrial work. Foremost among these was eliminating obstacles to industrial licensing and addressing the files of the first, second, and third expansions, as well as handling the industrial city file. Furthermore, the Chamber demanded the establishment of a permanent participatory work methodology that gives the Chambers of Industry a significant weight in reviewing and studying draft laws before they are issued. This would empower the Chamber to support industrialists and cooperate with government entities to clarify the dimensions of these decisions and incentivize their optimal implementation, in addition to involving the chambers in the Syrian Chambers of Industry Law.Additionally, the Chamber submitted a request to amend the mechanism for collecting the consumption expenditure tax, given its nature, by collecting this tax directly from the end consumer without burdening the importer with additional costs. It also demanded addressing the impacts resulting from the border handling decision, and reconsidering the pricing and licensing of energy carriers to match actual production and operational costs. Moreover, the Chamber called for resolving the issue of suspended licenses for water bottling plants, as the previous justifications for their closure are no longer valid. It also emphasized regulating the criteria for applying standard specifications at border entry points to protect the national economy. In pursuit of the institution's self-development, a request was presented to establish a private investment project for the Hama Chamber of Industry. This project would help meet all its operational requirements to ensure the continuity of providing support and services to industrialists with the highest possible efficiency
