Dr. Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar, Minister of Economy and Industry, headed a Syrian economic delegation on a visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The visit aimed to transition economic relations between the two countries from mere communication to active economic and investment partnerships, open new channels for trade and joint investment, establish joint ventures, and benefit from Uzbek expertise and experiments in developing industry, increasing production, and enhancing the competitive capabilities of Syrian sectors.The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry participated in this delegation, represented by Dr. Mazen Deirwan, Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, and Mr. Mohammad Mofleh Al-Jandali, a board member of the Federation, in addition to representatives from the Chambers of Industry of Damascus, Rural Damascus, and Aleppo.The program included a visit by the delegation to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to discuss business support tools and access to foreign markets. They also reviewed the Chamber's experience in providing services, tools, and consultations supporting the business sector, and exchanged expertise and practices to keep pace with the proposed cooperation paths between the two countries and establish direct partnerships.Furthermore, the Uzbek-Syrian Business Forum was held during the visit to review all fields of cooperation and partnership between Syrian and Uzbek companies by exploring opportunities to establish joint ventures and strengthening direct communication between businessmen. Consequently, a decree was issued by the Minister of Economy and Industry to form the Syrian-Uzbek Business Council, serves as a permanent platform to coordinate communication between the two business communities and translate the outcomes of economic meetings into practical, executable steps
