In a pivotal meeting focused on economically empowering women and opening new horizons for local products, the Industrial Businesswomen Committee at the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its Countryside held a meeting chaired by Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh, a board member of the Chamber. The meeting aimed to approve the committee's work mechanism for the upcoming phase and discuss a package of initiatives supporting small and community-based projects.The committee's agenda included strategic decisions and practical steps. The committee announced preparations for an exceptional participation with a special pavilion in the "Nas Tex" and "Syrex Amman" exhibitions, aiming to provide direct support to small and micro enterprises, and to offer businesswomen the opportunity to market their products on a regional scale. In the same context, attendees were briefed on the details and conditions for participating in the "Syrex Jeddah" exhibition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to open new export and investment channels for interested industrial women.In a gesture that underscores the committee's commitment to supporting the wheel of local production, the committee hosted Ms. Layla Al-Bardan, who represented an inspiring model through her journey of returning to Syria and establishing a food industry factory in the Damascus countryside. In appreciation of her efforts and to encourage returning industrial women, the committee decided to organize an official field visit to the factory to inspect the production lines and discuss ways to support and develop this project.The humanitarian and developmental dimension was not absent from the committee's agenda, as qualitative proposals centered around the committee's social responsibility were presented. Consequently, the committee approved a work plan to be implemented during the coming days and weeks.Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh emphasized that the next phase requires concerted efforts to enhance the presence of Syrian products in foreign markets, with a full focus on nurturing and qualifying emerging projects and industries led by Syrian women returning to invest in their homeland.
