Within the framework of national efforts aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and expanding horizons for external partnerships, Mr. Mohammad Sharif Al-Hafiz, Director of the Marea Industrial Zone, participated in a Syrian government and economic delegation that paid an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The visit aimed to discuss tools for supporting the business sector and developing opportunities for access to foreign markets.During the visit, Mr. Mohammad Sharif Al-Hafiz took part in meetings held with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. The delegation was briefed on the Uzbek experience in developing services provided to the business sector and mechanisms for supporting industrial companies. Additionally, both sides reviewed cooperation opportunities and the exchange of expertise to enhance production capacities and open new channels for export and investment.The delegation also reviewed the Uzbek Industrial Catalog, which includes data on more than 900 industrial enterprises. The catalog serves as an important platform for introducing companies and their production capacities and connecting them with investors, which opens the way for direct partnerships between Syrian and Uzbek companies in vital sectors.Furthermore, Mr. Mohammad Sharif Al-Hafiz participated in the Uzbek-Syrian Business Forum held in the capital, Tashkent. The forum discussed opportunities for commercial, industrial, and investment cooperation, mechanisms for enhancing communication between businessmen, and developing joint projects in the fields of production and technology transfer.As part of the forum's outcomes, discussions took place regarding the formation of the Syrian-Uzbek Business Council to serve as a permanent platform for coordinating communication between the two business communities, following up on cooperation opportunities, and turning the results of economic meetings into practical, implementable steps.This participation confirms the active role of the Marea Industrial Zone in supporting the industrial sector, enhancing the presence of Syrian companies in foreign markets, and developing international partnerships that contribute to supporting the national economy.
