To date, three training courses in various fields have been held within the Training and Rehabilitation Center at the chamber’s headquarters. The Council discussed the obstacle of not granting administrative licenses to new economic activities, which hinders investments in the governorate. It stressed the need to resolve this issue as quickly as possible, especially with the influx of investors looking to operate in the country.Furthermore, the board addressed a letter from the Ministry of Economy and Industry (No. 13998 - 2/12/9984, dated August 18, 2026) and its attachments, forwarded by the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce. The meeting highlighted significant opportunities that Syrian industrialists and investors can leverage through Oman. It reflected an Omani private sector willingness to advance economic relations with Syria to a more progressive stage. The meeting also showed readiness to provide the necessary support to expand trade and investment cooperation, open new channels for Syrian products, and encourage joint investments. This is in addition to utilizing Oman's strategic location, trade agreements, and regional and international relations to serve the interests of both countries. Based on this, proposals were made to nominate several active companies from Daraa Governorate whose products are prioritized for export. The meeting also touched upon an investment management agreement with Alpha Capital for Financial Services (a private joint-stock company). An activity could be organized with this firm involving joint-stock economic entities operating in the governorate to outline future cooperation. Finally, the attendees praised the work of the supply monitoring control (consumer protection) and demanded its continuity and increased efficiency within the governorate’s markets. They requested a particular focus on food-related businesses, such as restaurants, dairy and cheese shops, sweet shops, and bread bakeries, to safeguard public health
