The Daraa Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its annual General Assembly meeting under the slogan "Reconstruction Through Investment", attended by Daraa Governor Anwar Taha Al-Zoubi, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry for Internal Trade Maher Al-Hassan, Director General of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Federation Amer Al-Homsi, along with representatives of official institutions and economic sectors.
During the meeting, Chamber President Nashat Al-Rifai emphasized the vital role of investment and trade in supporting reconstruction efforts and stimulating economic growth. He noted that the chamber’s vision focuses on supporting local production and agricultural manufacturing, developing commercial and investment infrastructure, enhancing trade activity through the Nasib border crossing, working toward the opening of the Daraa–Ramtha crossing, and advancing digital transformation and service development.
For his part, Governor Al-Zoubi reaffirmed the governorate’s commitment to providing the necessary facilities for investors and strengthening cooperation with the private sector. Deputy Minister Al-Hassan highlighted the importance of partnership between the government and the private sector in supporting economic development and addressing current challenges.
Discussions during the meeting focused on improving the investment climate, accelerating the issuance of administrative and industrial licenses, activating the planned industrial city in Al-Najeeh area, and opening the Daraa–Ramtha border crossing due to its expected positive impact on trade between Syria and Jordan.
The General Assembly also approved the administrative and financial reports and budgets presented during the session. The meeting concluded with a commitment by the chamber to continue supporting economic development and enhancing its services to better serve traders, industrialists, and investors across Daraa Governorate
