Daraa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Discusses Investment Obstacles and Border Crossing Development
The Board of Directors of the Daraa Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its regular monthly meeting, chaired by Mr. Nashat Al-Rifai, to discuss key issues affecting traders and industrialists in the province. The meeting addressed official correspondence regarding the retroactive effect of the consumer consumption tax and formed a committee to review the minimum and maximum fees collected by the Chamber.
A major focus was placed on resolving administrative licensing obstacles for industrial facilities, especially given the current lack of a dedicated industrial city in Daraa. Additionally, the Council highlighted the preparation of the Chamber's fourth floor as a vocational training and rehabilitation center for young job seekers.
Internationally, the board reviewed the results of its participation in the Arab Chambers Union meeting in Cairo. It also welcomed the new facilities allowing Syrian businessmen (Excellent and First Class categories) to enter Jordan without prior security clearance. Discussions also touched upon urgent requests to develop and improve operations at the Nasib and Ramtha border crossings to boost economic growth
