The Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry, represented by its Chairman, Eng. Mohammed Ayman Al-Mawlawi, participated in the activities of the Syria E-Commerce Forum 2026. The event was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Technology, Abd Al-Salam Haikal, and His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mohammed Yusr Barnieh. Held at the Seven Gates Hotel in Damascus under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Technology and organized by "Tajir.store" platform, the forum aims to enhance cooperation and integration among key actors in the e-commerce ecosystem—including digital platforms, applications, stakeholders, decision-makers, and IT influencers—thereby contributing to the growth of the e-commerce sector in Syria.On the sidelines of the forum, Eng. Mohammed Ayman Al-Mawlawi emphasized in a press statement that e-commerce has become a fundamental pillar of modern economies and a primary channel for marketing and selling products worldwide, noting that Syria possesses the capabilities to enter this field strongly. Al-Mawlawi added that the upcoming phase requires upgrading the telecommunications infrastructure and strengthening the legislative and regulatory framework supporting e-commerce. He stressed that the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry pays great attention to all initiatives contributing to digital transformation and empowering industrialists to keep pace with technological advancements. He further noted that the Chamber signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the "Tajir" platform, marking a new phase in supporting exports and digital businesses. This partnership reflects the Chamber's commitment to enabling its member industrialists to maximize their benefit from digital tools, e-commerce, and digital marketing, ultimately developing their businesses and expanding their reach to local, regional, and international markets
