Driven by its commitment to remain at the heart of international initiatives, and in alignment with its strategy to build fruitful partnerships and transfer the latest global expertise to the industrial and productive sector in Syria, the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry participated in the specialized training program on "Labor Market Information Systems (LMIS)". The program was held over five days in the Italian city of Turin.The Chamber’s participation was represented by Mr. Waseem Saad, the Director of the Chamber, within a Syrian delegation that included a group of nominees from various ministries and national institutions, alongside participants from several Arab countries. The event was organized and supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Syria.The intensive training witnessed the presentation and discussion of a package of strategic pillars aimed at developing economic and labor policies. Most notably, these included: data strategy and the role and importance of accurate data in supporting and formulating development policies; mechanisms for identifying and analyzing labor market data sources; adopting the International Conference of Labour Statisticians (ICLS) standards; data modeling and exchange according to the global Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange (SDMX) system; and data governance alongside mapping out the roadmap for implementing and managing LMIS systems.The training activities culminated in the participating teams presenting integrated projects that simulate national realities. The Syrian delegation presented a clear, practical vision highlighting the efficiency of Syrian cadres and their capability to transform theoretical concepts into executive plans that support the business and production sectors
