Damascus Chamber of Industry Announces New Conditions and Mechanism for Exporting Meat to Lebanon

 

Damascus — The Damascus Chamber of Industry and Its Countryside has issued a circular addressed to manufacturers of meat and frozen meat, urging them to review the new regulations issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture regarding the organization of meat imports of all kinds.
According to Circular No. (81/2026), these measures are based on an official letter from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, which in turn is based on correspondence from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (Department of Arab Affairs).
The new Lebanese decision includes several key pillars, notably:
  • Import conditions for chilled and frozen meat.
  • General specifications approved for meat transport vehicles to ensure food safety.
  • The official mechanism for registering Syrian facilities and establishments wishing to export to Lebanese markets.
Concluding its circular, signed by the Chairman of the Chamber, Engineer Mohamed Ayman Al-Mawlawi, the Chamber emphasized the importance for concerned exporters and industrialists to review the details of the attached decision to ensure their products comply with the required standards and to facilitate export operations
