From the stage of dreams and abstract ideas to the threshold of actual execution, young male and female entrepreneurs have paved their way into the labor market with steady academic steps. In a strategic move to support startups and generate new job opportunities, the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its Countryside, in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO), concluded the second training package, "Start Your Business" (SYB), under the global Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) program.The closing event was attended by Mr. M. Mohammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi, Chairman of the Chamber; Mr. Anas Al-Sabaa, the ILO National Coordinator in Syria; Ms. Amal Bani Awad, ILO Sustainable Solutions Project Manager; Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh, Chamber Board Member and Head of the Industrial Businesswomen Committee; along with representatives from the organization and Mr. Wassim Saad, Director of the Chamber.The training package, delivered by trainer Majd Mansour, culminated in the distribution of certificates to the trainees who successfully passed this stage. The attending members of the Chamber's board of directors and the ILO presented the certificates to the participants amid wide acclaim. Attendees reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing support and training, highlighting future cooperation to establish financing mechanisms that help women start or develop their businesses. The speeches delivered during the ceremony emphasized that this academic training is unique and unconventional, as it methodically distills years of practical industrial experience to ensure that new projects avoid common mistakes and obstacles.Engineer Mohammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi pointed out that supporting youth and entrepreneurs is a fundamental duty, as they represent the hope for the future. He stressed his full readiness to provide all forms of support and cooperation for startups and to create new job opportunities.For their part, the ILO representatives expressed their delight at witnessing the program's theoretical ideas transform into a practical, applied reality that benefits youth and women. They praised the strategic tripartite partnership linking the organization with the Chamber and relevant authorities, commending the efforts made to leverage the program's tools and deliver them successfully to the trainees.The participating trainees expressed the profound importance of the skills and expertise they acquired during this training phase. They confirmed that the program enabled them to develop sound business plans to build their projects and move them from the stage of dreams and abstract concepts into actual implementation. The attendees highlighted the significant benefits gained in cost determination and precise financial calculation, as well as pricing control mechanisms and profit margin definition. This will protect them from randomness and confusion in managing future profits, in addition to focusing on building simplified and practical marketing plans that ensure efficient promotion of their projects and attract target customers
