Cancellation of Industrial Plot Allocations for Defaulting Investors in Adra Industrial City due to Non-Payment and Delay in Construction
Cancellation of Industrial Plot Allocations for Defaulting Investors in Adra Industrial City due to Non-Payment and Delay in Construction
The designated committee at Adra Industrial City, under the Ministry of Economy and Industry, has issued a proposal to cancel the allocation of several industrial plots previously granted to investors relocated from the Al-Qaboun industrial area. This decision comes as a result of their failure to settle financial obligations and their delay in commencing construction work within the specified legal deadlines.
This proposal follows a detailed review of the violating investors' files and an inspection of the plots, which remain vacant with no construction activity initiated. This is despite some investors having already obtained building permits and being formally notified in the Official Gazette last March to rectify their status.
The detailed list of investors facing the proposed cancellation includes:
-
Wael Al-Hamas, son of Mowaffaq: Allocated plot No. 657 (Secondary Engineering Sector), spanning an area of 1,319.34 square meters, for failing to pay the 30% initial down payment and neglecting to obtain a building permit or start work.
-
Abdo Hakimeh, son of Khalil: Allocated plot No. 663 (Secondary Engineering Sector), spanning an area of 1,200 square meters, for non-payment of the down payment and failure to build despite obtaining a permit in late 2020.
-
Ghalia Maidani, daughter of Ayman: Allocated plots No. 730, 731, 732, and 733 (Secondary Food Sector), with a total area of 9,575 square meters, due to defaulting on the down payment and failing to start construction despite licensing the site in the summer of 2023.
In its report submitted to the Director-General of Adra Industrial City, Engineer Ziad Al-Basel, the committee emphasized that non-compliance with the allocation terms disrupts the utilization of industrial plots and leads to wasted investment opportunities. Consequently, this requires enforcing the applicable regulations and reclaiming the plots for Adra Industrial City
