Bridging Syria's Industrial Gap
To bridge the gap between educational curricula and industrial labor market needs, the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry met with the Italian organization AVSI and the Syrian Ministry of Education.
Key Highlights:
Labor Shortage: Industry leaders emphasized the urgent need for skilled youth trained in maintenance and modern technology for the reconstruction phase.
Dual Education: The Ministry of Education is activating a "Dual Education" system, blending theoretical study with direct practical training inside factories.
International Support: AVSI is preparing projects for the Italian Agency for Development to fund vocational training, provide international experts, and develop curricula tailored to the Syrian market.
Action Plan: The parties agreed to conduct a sector-wide survey (starting with textiles) to identify specific labor needs and organize field visits for students to industrial facilities.
Goal: Creating a new generation of skilled workers to drive Syria's industrial recovery
