Adra Industrial City in Rural Damascus: A Major Investment Leap Opening New Horizons for the Syrian Economy

The Adra Industrial City in Rural Damascus is undergoing a radical transformation in its investment environment, successfully regaining its leading role as a primary engine for national production. This revival is the result of modernized operational mechanisms and new strategies aimed at attracting capital and restarting the economic wheel through recent reforms.
Growth Figures (2025 - 2026)
Recent data highlights significant development throughout 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, recording the following results:
  • Resumed Production: 15 previously halted factories have returned to operation.
  • Construction Surge: Work has commenced on 250 new factories, bringing the total number of facilities in the production phase to approximately 750.
  • Land Allocation: 305 industrial plots were allocated and sold, covering a total area of over 152 hectares.
Investment Incentives
To achieve this growth, five core measures were implemented to ease the burden on industrialists:
  1. Financial Support: Providing installment plans with a down payment of only 5%.
  2. Administrative Simplification: Streamlining procedures for construction and renovation licenses.
  3. Infrastructure Development: Upgrading services and facilities in over 80% of the plots.
  4. Legal Flexibility: Exempting investors from certain complex conditions to accelerate project launches.
  5. Open Subscription: Making investment-ready plots immediately available.
Economic and Social Impact
The results of this movement extend beyond industrial figures to a broad socio-economic impact:
  • Providing approximately 30,000 new job opportunities.
  • Supporting the local market with national products in strategic sectors such as iron, aluminum, and construction materials.
  • Enhancing the export capacity of Syrian products, contributing to foreign currency reserves.
Through these steps, Adra Industrial City solidifies its position as a promising investment hub, proving the Syrian industrial sector's ability to renew itself and meet future demands
